My husband has the air on year round. Sometimes I want to hit him....now for example.

Heh- now that's funny....but I want to know...who had on the a/c to begin with?
It's good to run the AC occasionally even in the winter. If you don't circulate the freon, the lines get dry, and the connections start to leak. So you were just doing some preventive maintenance. (Seriously, that's true. I'm not making this up.)
