Gratitude Day 12 - small gestures at work

I got up early and worked in the office today. My department supervisor, who usually works remotely from two states away, was also in the office!

A delightful surprise!

Our workspaces are located in separate areas while corporate is undergoing renovation. He had to come looking for me to say hello.

"How did you know I was in the office today?" I asked him. I hadn't walked past his office, so he hadn't seen me come in.
"You're usually here on Mondays," he said.

Funny, I hadn't realized I'd had a pattern, but he was right. I do tend to work in the office on Mondays.
Pretty observant of him since, like I said, he's been two states away for most of the past two years.

He made an effort to go out of his way to come find me. That's actually quite nice.

I'm glad I went to work today. I hadn't really felt like it. It would have been easy to stay home with my kitty. But I went in for my mental health, and I got the special bonus of finding out that my dept supervisor would go out of his way just to say hello to me.
That was a *much* needed boost to my mental health.

I am grateful for small gestures.
