Acting isn't difficult

I don't mind memorizing my lines.
I can even tolerate the long hours of rehearsal after a full day of work. (Don't like it, but I can put up with it.)

But, I have never been good dealing with egos.
I do not like people who walk over people.
I do not like people who behave as if they are better than other people... especially when they clearly are not.

However, when you live in a small town with four different community theater groups all putting on performances in the fall, you run short of decent people you can cast.
And you sometimes get stuck with people who are jerks because there just isn't anyone else you can ask.

Therefore, I asked the director if I needed to apologize to another actor for getting all up in his business for trying to direct me when he is not the director (because, you know, maybe that make me the jerk everyone else has to put up with).
She assured me I most certainly do not.
Will I audition for another play after this is over?
No.
With a side of Oh Hell.

This crap can't end soon enough.

Lol oh boy do I ever know what you mean.

A different production might be a better experience but it's a gamble.

Ah, theater! I am a recovering actor/director and the only thing worse than dealing with pain in the butt fellow actor is dealing with the pain in the butt when you are trying to direct him/her and OBVIOUSLY don't truly comprehend their greatness...

Hate that you have had this experience. We had one asshole that was in the wings throwing olives onstage during a performance. Good looks don't mean good manners.
