In my dreams...

Dreamed I was applying for a job at a radio station.
The program director loved me.  Made a point to tell me how much he liked something he heard me say on air.  Gave me details about what I did right and why it was right.
(Do you know how long it's been since I heard anything like that?)

Then, as I waited for a meeting with a higher up, several other employees wandered through the lobby and introduced themselves.  We all got along great.  They liked me alot.  Even invited me to lunch with them.
(Again, do you know how long it's been since anyone has invited me to lunch?  In seven years, I don't think anyone has.)

And at some point in the interview process, when I was asked how many hours I work at my current radio station - because they wanted to hire me for any spare time I had left over - I forgot I even had another job.

Awwww. Want to come to lunch with me?

Sure it's a bit far but that just gives you a good excuse to be late back to a job you aren't loving.

I love you, Dani. You know that, right? ;-)

We should start our own company. Something that you can live in Wisconsin and I can live in FL. We can find other people we like to help. And when someone does something good... we'll make sure they know.

And we'll meet places cool for lunch. Because... you know... we'll have so much money we can fly all over. ;)

I cannot remember the last time my manager said anything nice to any of us. I don't think he knows what we do. We've never had a group lunch. He doesn't even acknowledge us except when he comes around with his clipboard and checks to see how neat our cubes are.

Not kidding. Did I say we're all engineers? I asked my Tech Lead when we're being issued big pencils and crayons.

And...You need a new job worse than I do.

Why not start your own? The station Classicfm in the UK was originally broadcasting from their presenters livingrooms, caravans and a very small rented studio. It now has more listeners daily than the BBC Radio 3 or most of the other BBC stations.

Used to be a daily listener in the UK, but can't now receive it in Germany ...

Hmmm, now there's an idea, wonder if I can talk them into a franchise?

You know what's funny? I was tooling qaround on Etsy yesterday and thinking "Roses should sell her chicken hats on here." Sure $1000 is maybe a litte steep but I bet ya could make a profit.

If I won the lottery, I'd buy some very expensive chicken hats!
