Happy Birthday!... again... today
I was sitting in the livingroom with The Husband when a boy's voice called out from the kitchen, "Happy Birthday, Father!"
The Husband burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
He explained...
For his birthday, The Husband received several gifts of candy.
Mints and M&Ms, mostly.
So, he poured some into a candy dish and left it out to share.
One of the boys asked, "Hey, Father, can I have one of your mints?"
"Sure!" was the answer. "But you have to wish me Happy Birthday first."
"Happy Birthday, Father!"
"Thank you, son."
About half an hour later, a voice called through the house, "Happy Birthday, Father!"
Someone was taking some candy.
The next day, "Happy Birthday, Father!"
Both of them.
Each time a boy takes a mint or a handful of M&Ms, he says it.
Still.
Days later.
Hilarious!
