I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight...
The Husband and I were shoveling snow in the dark last night when we heard the rumbling. I looked up to see a small headlight half a block away on the sidewalk. Like a train in the distance, it came rolling through the night kicking up puffs of snow and steam. To get out of its way, the Husband and I climbed to the top of the snow pile we'd just shoveled off our sidewalk.
As it neared, we could make out the outline of an old man perched atop a riding lawn mower with a snow blower attachment mounted on the front. He and his machine roared past us. He waved and cackled with glee as insanely happy as Slim Pickens riding a nuclear bomb.
He turned the corner and continued around the block. I couldn't help but smile.
I imagined his children and grandchildren gathered in his driveway back home waiting for him to come back... with his new Christmas present.
"Where'd Grandpa go? Is he coming back?"

Sounds like someone knows how to enjoy the snow = )
May
You're never too old to have fun in the snow.
New toys are the best
I wonder how much alcohol was involved....
It makes me think of this song, about a wife trying to keep her husband from going out drinking:

There's a line in it: Well she might've took my car keys
But she forgot about my old John Deere.
I could so see my dad doing that.
That's really cool.
