Two Word Game Review - Wii Resort
Here are your two words:
"Got money?"
One of the reasons The Husband and I decided to buy a Wii Game system several years ago was because this seemed to be one console that Nintendo hadn't felt the need to force into obsolesence by updating every year with new games that cannot be played on old systems.
So far, so good.
But, be warned that if you buy the new Wii Resort (with Motion Sensor!), you will find there are many games on Resort that cannot be played without additional Motion Sensors.
Oh, you can play, but you must play one at a time.
Or, you can all share the one remote with the Sensor on it.
Or, you can go back to the store and buy three more Sensors at $20 a pop so your four-member family can participate together.
Again, I am overjoyed that Nintendo hasn't forced me to buy something called a Wii II (followed by the Wii III) that doesn't play my old Wii games.
But, I see now how they have gotten the Ack!Thbbbt! family to invest in more Wii products.

FYI - they are now selling the game with a second "sensor" for the same price, so at least there's that..... :)
Carmen: That's a fast change, then. Our Wii Resort came with only one sensor... just two weeks ago.
yeepers...
That's a common game company tactic from the beginning of time. I think the last game system I owned that actually came with more than one controller was the Atari 2600 back in 1979.
Yep - just heard about it on the news maybe 5 days ago - they may be trying to sell all their old stock first too.
Came to you from Green Eyed Momsters blog. I loved Bill the Cat, so I had to see what you were all about.
Stupid Wii. It's addicting. It can also make you look like a fool...dancing, bowling, shooting, boxing. My kids think it is a great way to dehumanize their dad.
I'll be back.
