It wasn't about the shoes, really...

For those of you who weren't particulary interested in my footwear (and who could blame you, really) and barely scanned over Friday's post (if that), allow me to summarize in one quick sentence:

I got a new job.

This is a very good thing.
There are many positive things about my new job.
And though there are a boatload of negative things about my old job, those things aren't the reasons I'm leaving.  If they were, I'd have left years ago.

I waited for the right job.
My new employers are so excited for me to start, they've stood in the windows and danced as I've walked up to the door.  Who wouldn't want to work with people like that?

And you know what?
You can't dance in tiny windows.
You dance in big, honking, HUGE windows!

That's right.  After eight years, I finally get to work in a room with windows to the outdoors.
Big, honking, huge windows.

I know.
I'd pinch myself, but if I'm dreaming, I don't want to wake up.

Whoa! A new job? They like you??
Dance as long as you like!!!
Congratulations, and well done. Now go buy those shoes!
And it better not be just a dream. That would be cruel. And very undeserved!

Dear Roses...

I mostly lurk and rarely comment. But I can't help myself: YOU DID IT!!!! You got out of a hellhole of a place and into a fabulous new one with terrific people ... ENJOY!!! I am beyond thrilled for you. You deserve this, you've earned it, you've worked your a@@ off for it (even if you think it just dropped in your lap, it didn't!).
Spielberg? He's waiting around the corner ... if he deserves to meet you!

Thank you, everyone!

For the first time in eight years, I'm kinda looking forward to a Monday. :-)
