Watching the light come on as I teach my son Alg II and then finding out that he went into school the next day and taught the lesson to all his buddies before class so they could pass the test. I know. It's dorky, but this is what my life has become...
I remember when happiness was having one of them crawl in my lap after they awoke from a nap, their head against my beating heart, my inhaling them... the sweetness and love of it all.
Hearing my brother tell me that my cooking was really good. And then watching him go back for thirds and thinking 'there goes tomorrow's dinner'. Yea-yu, aren't brothers grand.
I may sound perverse here, but happiness .... is all green lights one the way to work. .... is Monday morning. It's the brand new start of a brand new day, in a brand new week, and I haven't messed anything up yet!

That brief moment of spring between the time the yard stops being a mudpit and the time the grass gets too long to not mow any more.
