"I'm wide awake" - Katy Perry

Used to be when I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night, The Husband would notice my absence within ten to fifteen minutes and come out to the living room to see if I was okay.  Most nights it would be nothing more than waking up, using the bathroom, and not being able to shut off my brain. (Much like right now, actually.)

After too many years of knowing that there's nothing he can do to help, he stopped checking. I can't say as I blame him. Heck, on the nights when he's the one on the couch watching mid-night lame television, I totally take advantage of the extra leg room, and I hog the covers. (Don't think that's not what he does when I'm gone.)

However, now even the cat stays in bed when I get up.
WT...?
I am completely offended by that.

If you start giving out crunchy treats when you get up in the middle of the night, the cat will *always* come check. Just in case... ;)

No. He will then start waking me up in the middle of the night because he will think it is time for crunchy treats.
