Hello? Is anyone there?

Here's a question for you:

Would you rather find out the building you work in has ghosts living in its attic... or homeless people living up there?

Because the building I work in is rumored to have both.

Ghosts, 'cause they don't have to use the facilities.

If the homeless non-ghosts are evicted is there a local winter shelter where they can go?

You need the GhostHunters to come! But the Christie Critters have brought up an interesting question. If there are homeless people there, is there a good shelter nearby so they can stay warm??
I don't think Ghosts need the warm.

The ghosts would worry me less than the homeless. But, as someone else has remarked, is there anywhere the homeless can go if evicted?

Wow. You guys are all benevolent, big-hearted angels of mercy! All worried where the homeless could go if they were chased out.

Oh, yeah. We have lots of places, shelters, Salvation Army, churches that open their doors...
Twice a year, volunteers go out overnight trying to find the homeless population and educate them on the available facilities. (One year they found an entire tent community hidden over a rise next to a college.)

But back to the shallow question I asked...
Let's say no one is getting evicted or exorcised, which would you rather have in your building?

BTW, Jon Spencer...
I was told early on that the building's public bathrooms are kept locked so the homeless people don't live in there. If you need to use the potty, you gotta ask for a key.
Nice.

Roses, there are both in the building/buildings where I work.

Seriously.

At the risk of sounding heartless, I prefer the ghosts. It's not my job to put them out on the street.

To be perfectly shallow about it, I would prefer the ghosts.

We have a good winter shelter system in our town also. The Bearded One and I support it as strongly as we can - as even here in SoCal it gets REALLY cold at night.

Ghosts. Too many variables with the Homeless. One, their situation is tough. Two, they are there probably due to mental illness or addiction. Both are tough issues...

I would rather have ghosts. And then carry holy water and maybe a gris-gris to keep the ghosts away. Those won't work on the homeless.

FYI: Years ago I lived in a haunted building. It was a beautiful place, with fabulous architecture, and now has been torn down and a commercial building is there. Modern progress.
I miss the building and the ghosts. Even though you never knew who (or what) was in the basement and why there were cold spots in certain areas, it was kinda fun watching newbies experience the "woo-woo". Snort.

I'll be honest with you all, I'd prefer the ghosts, too.
Because when push comes to shove, even thought I'd heard the ghost rumor early on, I never felt the need to lock the door late at night until I heard about the homeless folks.

If I have quarters in my pocket at the end of the day, however, I'll leave the coins on the steps up to the attic so someone can get snacks from the vending machine. Never did that for the ghosts, either.
