"If you open it, close it." - Ann Landers' rules

You can explain it as often and as eloquently as you like, but until a child has achieved his final adult growth spurt, he cannot fully appreciate the value of closing a cabinet door.

*thud* 
"Ow!"
"See what I mean?"
Rubs head.  "Okay, I get it now."

Yeah, and all young appliance repairmen learn to make sure the freezer door of an over-and-under refrigerator is closed before they jump up from kneeling in front of it while putting it in to "defrost," too.

Trust me, I know.
