Is that your final answer?

Conversation with Younger Son...

He:  How long do mice live?
Me:  I don't know.
He:  (long monologue about mice for sale at the pet store... then...) How long do mice live?
Me:  What did I tell you the last time you asked me that?
He:  I don't know.
Me:  *blink*
He:  *blink*
Me:  Right.
He:  Wait, what?

(Go on, read it again until you see it...)

That was GREAT!

BTW, mice may have a typical longevity that you can look up, but they are very susceptible to cancer. I don't think we had a hamster that lived past 2 years. (We have a hamster graveyard in the backyard.) We had one die of uterine cancer (actually, for $35 you can have it euthanized, which I did, but the guys at work said they'd have done it for free with a shovel) and we had one die of breast cancer. The last one just dropped dead. It probably had some sort of cancer that was not obvious.

I found out later it's why rodents are used in cancer tests.
