"Fish are friends, not food" ~ Finding Nemo

I was enjoying greatly what was possibly THE best shrimp in the entire world (evidenced by the chair dancing and humming as I chewed), while Richmond watched me over her own lunch.
She pointed a fork at my plate.  "I almost ordered that," she said.
"Would you like to try one of my shrimps?"
She thought about it.  "If you get to the end, and you're full, then I'll take one."
We both nodded and proceeded to dine.

Eventually, there were three shrimp left on my plate.
"I'm so sorry," I told my friend.  "I don't think you're going to get any shrimp."
"That's totally okay."
"But, if you really wanted one, I would gladly let you have one."

It was then this lovely woman explained to me what a testiment it was to our friendship that I offered her the last of something I liked so much it made me chair dance.
"Likewise," she said, "I am such a friend that I would not take your last shrimp."

You know?
I think I like her more than I liked that shrimp.
And that's saying something.

What a terrific lesson in friendship. Thought I am wondering WHAT MADE THE SHRIMP SO GOOD? (Helen is basically a nice person, but her taste buds can be bossy).
Love your blog - you should come by DearHelenHartman.com on Friday and share the link!

It was the coriander on the shrimp - and possibly the happy company. :)

Gotta love lunch! And good friends...
