When the steaks are high (that's right - steaks)

The former cop who wants to take The Husband and me out for a nice steak dinner does not like any of the steak restaurants in our immediate area.  In order to entice us to travel more than 30 minutes to accompany him to dinner, he has offered to drive.

Whenever he's brought this up, we've said okay, good, fine.
But, I suppose we haven't thrown any real enthusiasm behind it.

Finally, he cornered me and insisted.  "Come on.  I'll drive!"
"Dude," I replied, "you're not supposed to let them take you to a second crime scene."
This former cop said to me, "That's right.  You're funny."

(I'm not sure everyone will "get" this one.  If it's too vague, let me know.  I'll explain in the comments.)

Okay, so now I'm not sure exactly how to explain it...

If you are attacked, it's easier for police to piece together clues at one crime scene rather than two. A criminal may try to tell you they won't hurt you if you'll "just get in the car", but they are trying to take you somewhere that police will not be able to find additional clues.

Therefore, if you are attacked, you are not supposed to let the criminal take you somewhere else where they will create a second crime scene, hide the clues, hide your body.
