Oh, barf!

It has been my experience that a cat will only hack up a fur ball on carpeting.
He might be standing on vinyl all day, but he'll move onto carpeting to throw up.

He tried a new trick today.
He was sitting on the toilet tank and managed to ralph into the magazine rack.
Nice.

Can I recycle that?

Does your cat barf anywhere but on carpeting?

Oh yes, Vladi barfs on our bed and once on my PJ's that were waiting on said bed.

He's a great cat. I love him so much.

My Putter likes to take aim from the top of a cabinet in the "cat room". It generally leaves a trail on the wall, the cabinet and the lid of the cat box that sits at the bottom. She is quite a good shot.
Diamond is more discreet and likes the carpet.

I think Max plots and plans his next barf fest. Recently he horked on the sofa, down between cushions that can't be removed...

My 21 year old long haired 'Old English' Tabby likes the carpet, but if that's not available, the bed is next choice...

It's a cat thing. They like to let you know they're out of sorts and not happy with the attention you are supposed to be lavishing on them.

I was sleeping in bed when the cat I was sitting decided to hair ball it up. Always fun @ 4am.
My cat prefers windowsills preferably ones that are behind sofas so that it won't get noticed for weeks.

Jen brings up (no pun intended) a good point. Aside from location, cats are quite particular about their timing as well. Thbbbt!

When {W}ho-Tat was alive, she would always hack up a really fat wet one right where my feet would hit the floor when I got out of bed. And yes it was always in the early hours of the morning.

It also seemed that she would hold that Horrible little bomb of un-pleasan-tness only when I was at home and sound asleep.
ICK...
What a wake-up call!

Well, once again I am the odd man out.

No cats. No barf on the carpet, either.

I'm with Andy. No cat. No barf on carpet. I do have three boys, however, that I have spent an inordinate amount of time training to not barf on the carpet. That took a long time... as is witnessed by looking at my one time white bedroom carpet. All the stains have names... 'Oh, that one is pizza puke...' "I remember that one. It's chocolate cake puke..."

Mine like to hit the top step from either the second floor or down to the basement. But the timing is just perfect, right about the time I am waking up. so in my not totally awake phase of trying to not fall down the steps to get to my first cup of coffee of the day, I get rudely awakened to a bare foot in cat yak. they also have been known to barf on the bed in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up to that at 1:00 am. And yes they prefer the rugs to the hardwood floors everytime.
