Dreaming in stereo

Do you ever dream an idea that's so brilliant you write it down as soon as you wake up?

Lately, I've been dreaming music.
I wake up with a piece of music in my head that I've never heard before.

I'm not musically inclined, though, so I don't know how to write it down.

Don't they have doohicky's you can sing into and the it transposes the music for you?

You're probably right, Arwen.
Of course, you are assuming I can sing coherently enough for such a gizmo to translate properly...

Voice recorder and humming... Years ago I used to keep a pad by the bed and write down these amazing story ideas I had in the middle of the night. I stopped doing that when I realized those great ideas looked more like a bad LSD trip in the light of day...

I don't know whether it's an age thing but by the time I have fully woken up enough to write anything down I've forgotten the damn dream.

Roses, I'll "AMEN" the others. Get a digital voice recorder. Just sing the dream into the thing.

Then, when you get to work, find somebody that really, really, really likes you a lot. Play it for them, and ask for some musical hep!

I have this song in my head...I've dreamed about it for years. It's called, "I should have. Oh, I wish I would have." I'm sure it would be a smash hit on the country charts. But I'm too afraid to actually present it to a real musician for some help.

I've actually picked it out on the piano...and written down the little black ovals on the music paper. But I'm askeered to let a real music person listen to it. I don't take rejection well. Sigh.

Go for it Roses! Go for it! Do it for all of us "Dream Singers."
