Human-proof cat toys

We found them while buying gerbil feed at the pet store. There was a bucket of them by the checkout. They were labeled "Peep 'n Squeak Mice".
Elder Son grabbed one of them, squeezed it, shook it, and got nothing out of it.
But...
When he lazily tossed it back in the bucket, several mice squeaked!
We looked at each other, and we both pounced on the bucket.
Shake, squeeze... nothing.
But... drop it in the bucket, squeaks galore!

Apparently, it's cat activated.

Cats don't squeeze and shake things.
They bat them!
Of course.

Once we figured it out, Elder Son and I had to have one.
It even squeaked when the cashier dropped it into the bag.
We giggled continuously on the way home taking turns tapping the package.

Even now we sometimes let the cat play with it.

This is the same reason I bought my dogs a duck shaped toy that quacked. I was so sad when they ate it.

I had one of those feathers on a string/stick and I finally broke it playing stagecoach driver. The poor cat never got to play with it.

I have to get one of those for Buddah. The squeak will freak him out...

Nice of you to share.

Ever been gopher fishing? (I may get around to telling that story some day.)

Dani: I'm so sorry for your lost duck.

leeann: I'm so sorry for your... um... mental picture in my head.

Thumper: It was Buddah's birthday pictures that made me think of the Peep 'n Squeak.

Bob: Do I wanna?

My cats would lose their shit, they'd be so afraid. Then, my big boy Tybalt would eat the thing, no questions asked. :)
