Here's is Roses' Theory of Channel Surfing:
"If, while channel surfing, you stop on a sit-com, the audience will be laughing at the episode's best joke told just moments before you clicked."
I always just miss the really good jokes.

Better occasionally to miss the joke than to always miss the point of the joke.
Bob: Are you trying to say that's it's better to have laughed and lost than to never have laughed at all?
