Homework inspires creativity

Not in the way you're thinking it does.

If my kids have free access to the computer, they will play on it all day and tell me it's because they can't find anything else to do.

However, when I tell the kids they can't play on the computer until all their homework is done, they will find ALL sorts of things to do... other than homework.

Right... you and I are thinking that we'd finish our homework and then play computer all day, but that is not what the children heard. They heard that they can do whatever they want instead of homework as long as it's not computer.

They've spent a couple hours building forts in the basement, and they're showing no signs of slowing down so far.
It's nice to hear them laughing together.

Yea, I'm kind of that way about house work. No, that's exactly how I am about cleaning my house.

Heh...I use that kind of logic, too. No playing online until some work gets done...so instead of work, I get on the bike and go for a ride. In my head, it makes perfect sense. So obviously, your kids are freaking brilliant!

Homework is always a struggle in this house also. Mine always decides he has to use the bathroom. Usually for about 1/2 hour.
