rrrrrrrRICK rick!

5:19am

rrrrrrrRICK rick!
rrrrrrrRICK rick!

Floating up from sleep to vague consciousness.

rrrrrrrRICK rick!
rrrrrrrRICK rick!

What is that?

rrrrrrrRICK rick!
rrrrrrrRICK rick!

Some sound coming from outside.
Summer morning, windows wide open.

rrrrrrrRICK rick!
rrrrrrrRICK rick!

It's gotta be a kid riding a skateboard down the sidewalk.
Hence, the low rolling rrrrrrr and the annoying-as-heck RICK! RICK! as it crosses the seams.

But...
It's not getting closer.
And it's not going away.

Dang it. Now I'm wide awake.

What is that?

rrrrrrrRICK rick!
rrrrrrrRICK rick!

VROOOOOOOOOM!!!

Idiot neighbor.
Idling his POS pickup truck.
At 5:19 in the morning.
In the summer.
Who the heck needs to "warm up" their vehicle in the middle of summer?

Thanks a lot.
Jerkface.

As I read your post, I watched my new hillbilly neighbor drive into his driveway, get out, and then throw food onto the road. Last night when he left for wherever he was going he had a beer in his hand.

I strongly dislike this person.

That stuff really steams me.

We have a person who has this beater of a truck, apparently without a muffler, who likes driving up & down the street at odd hours of the day.

Needless to say, he & I would not be good friends if we met...

Cjenny,
I already strongly dislike your drunk neighbor!

Ugh. We lived next to a guy who had to warm up his truck at both 5 in the freaking morning and 10 at night. We're in CA. It's not that cold, even when it's cold. I was very glad to move away from that...

We used to live up the street from a guy with a really loud truck that had no muffler. He worked until the middle of the night, and would drive past our house and wake us up.
I have to give him credit for trying to be quiet, but his idea of "being quiet" included driving veeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy slowly. Which meant, he was still just as loud, only for a longer time.

*sigh*

I was about to guess a cricket with a speech impairment if you hadn't given the answer.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you ALL live next door to my ex-husband.....

And that would be yet ANOTHER reason for the "ex" in that title...
