Mousse

(not to be confused with Moose)

The 12-year-old has begun to style his hair.

It started last week at a school carnival when he paid a classmate to spritz him with some hair paint. She went the extra mile and fluffed his bangs for him.
(And you can believe the harassment the husband gave him later over paying a girl to run her fingers through the boy's hair!)

But ever since, he's been trying to get his bangs to stand up like that.

You know, that lazy style that looks like you didn't work at it at all?
Yeah. It actually takes a lot of work.

This morning, he asked me to help him.
So, I showed him how to use mousse.

And so it begins...

Today, his bangs.
Tomorrow, perhaps he will begin to bathe.

(We can only hope...)

Hey, that's the only reason I went to a hair salon when I was single :-)
