The Hot Chick

I'm not completely sure what Harvey wants us to do with his daily love notes, but this one really warmed my heart. Because one of the nicest things the husband ever said to me was related to it.

When we were still dating, I spent a lot of time playing volleyball.
One weekend, I spent a great deal of time at a sand volleyball tournament. A whole day of leaping and falling and sweating... in the sand. Baking under the sun. Hair up in ponytail. Sand up in shorts.

The husband (then boyfriend) showed up toward the end of the games, at the height of sweaty goodness. Mm, mmmm!
Just the fact that he had still wanted to kiss me told me how much a fool in love he was.

But later...

He told me that he had trouble finding me at the tournament right away.
He had wandered around a bit, looking for the court where I'd told him I'd be.
And he sheepishly told me that he had seen a woman volleyball player come around the corner of the lot carrying a lawn chair, wearing sunglasses and looking very confident and, he had to say, pretty darn attractive. He admitted that he had felt guilty that the first thought he had was, "Wow! Is she hot!"
And then, he realized that the hot volleyball chick was me!
And he was soooooo happy for himself!

Happy for himself.

That made my day.

Heck, it makes my day now!
