Good Mother

The next time I beat myself up over something I did that makes me feel like a bad mother, I will remind myself about the mornings I take a towel outside to dry off bicycle seats and helmets so the boys won't have wet heads and bottoms on their way to school.

What things do you do that make you feel like a good parent?

I let them live.

I leave before my daughter gets up in the mornings, I usually try to leave her a little note. It usually says, hope you have a good day. I love you and I'll see you soon. She likes that and when I'm rushed and don't leave one, I HEAR ABOUT IT!!!
I think she looks forward to my silly little notes.

tink: Bah-ha-ha! You crack me up!

loria: The mom of a high school friend used to write notes on his lunch bag. We *all* enjoyed reading what she wrote. We thought it was sweet.

rave: Why not? My kids are starting to tell me how they like their friends' parents better...

When they hit their teenage years, it seems like there is NOTHING you can do right. But I do try to leave notes, tell them I love them, give them hugs, spend time with them one on one.
