An Awesome Day

(This probably won't mean much to anyone but me...)

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and it occured to me as I walked up to my office building that I am exactly the person I had dreamed of being "someday" as I sat daydreaming on the school bus so many years ago.

I remember leaning against the bus window doing the math in my head. How old was I going to be when the year 2000 came around? How old?!? No way, I can't imagine being that old!

I wanted to have an interesting job and a happy family.

At the same time, I was afraid I was going to be a big disappointment to myself.

Well, there I was this morning, wearing my best suit (the one that fits well and makes me look way more fashionable than I am) and shades, carrying a semi-briefcase thing that makes me look important.
As I caught my reflection I thought, if I was cruising by in a school bus right now watching me walk up the steps to those glass front doors, I'd think to myself, "THERE! That's what I want to be when I grow up!"

And I realized, I am.

And I felt so awesome today.
